Altinkum
Golden beach and turquoise sea, add the name `Altinkum´ and you have a dream fulfilled beyond your expectations. Altinkum lies on the Turkish westcoast and translates as ‘Golden Sands’, when you visit Altinkum you quickly find out where the town got its name from.
Altinkum is know for its beautiful sandy beaches and calm waters. There are many bays where the wam waters of the Aegean Sea lap onto golden sandy beaches.
The resort is in the area of Didim which consist of 9 main districts, such as Akbuk, Yeþilkent and Yenihisar, all of which are at a short distance (5-15 min drive) of Altinkum.
Altinkum has three larger beaches, the main one is the largest and is known as First Beach. At the main beach you’ll find the seafront promenade with many international restaurants.
Second Beach is situated at the far end opposite the Orion Hotel to the Tuntas Hotel. Third Beach is past the Luna Park and has two restaurants, that offer a free bus service to and from your hotel or apartment.

You can spend your days lazying at one of the many small bathing coves, get a sun-tan and cool down in the beautiful turquoise sea. Have an adventures day and have a ride on the bananaboat, go parasailing or rent a jet-ski. You can also go horseback riding or have an energetic day with all of your familiy at the nearby Water Theme Park (Didim Aquapark). Couldn’t do enough shopping in Didim, spend a day at the outlet shoppingcentre near Söke (43km).
On an evening either visit a local restaurant and watch the world go by or let yourself be entertained in one of the more lively bars with great shows. Dolphin Square is the centre of night life, with lively bars, restaurants for all your evening entertainment for you and your family. For those who want to party untill the early hours a visit to the open air Medusa nightclub is a must, dance under the stars with views of Altinkum bay.

If you want to enjoy the local way of life visit the Yenihisar area, follow the main road (leading from the beachfront upto the Apollo temple) you’ll find the Saturday market across from the Migros Supermarket. Have a stroll around the market and let yourself be temted by the smells of turkish spices and the colours of local fresh fruit and vegetables, of haggle for a Turkish souvenir. Near the market area there are jewellery-, clothes- and giftshops. In this area you will also find more typical Turkish restaurants (lokanta’s), where you can treat yourself to traditional turkish dishes.
